Our story

Three generations of oud

Al‑Dahab began as a single family still in the 2000s. Today we work directly with harvesters and cooperatives in India — based in the Sivasagar district of upper Assam — distilling in small batches and shipping to collectors and trade buyers worldwide.

How we source

We buy agarwood directly from harvesters and licensed plantations, prioritising traceability and sustainable harvest practices over volume. Every lot is logged with its origin forest, harvest date, and grade before it reaches our stills.

Where possible we work with CITES-compliant, cultivated agarwood to reduce pressure on wild populations, and we're transparent with buyers about the origin of every batch.

How we distil

Hydro-distillation in copper stills, run slow — up to 21 days per batch — to draw out the full resin character. Oils are then aged in glass for a minimum of six months before bottling.

Values

What guides the work

Traceability

Every batch documented from forest to bottle, with certificates available on request.

Sustainability

Cultivated-first sourcing to ease pressure on wild agarwood populations.

Patience

Slow distillation and long ageing, because oud rewards patience over speed.
